Griffin's Storm - Darby Karchut

Griffin's  Storm

I must say I found a new favorite author, Darby Karchut is an amazing writer that gets your attention from the first page to the last.  Meyers has met her match in Darby Karchut whose creativity and excitement spills onto each page with an " at the edge of the seat gripping masterpiece".  This book has such balance with excitement, intrigue and grace, Karchut's is able to bring the characters to life so much so that they walk off the page into your heart.
I know I have to have the rest of this series, and there is no doubt my copies will be well worn in no time as I plan to share them.  This series would make a wonderful gift to someone special in your life  with  its adventure, love and grace.

Three Sisters-A Blackberry Island Novel, by Susan Mallery

I just finished Three Sisters, I loved it! I like it so much I took my time to read it and it was still over too soon.

The characters are outstanding, well developed. Each with unique traits, and each strives to conquer the negative and shine with the positive.

The three sisters are Victorian Homes that are on a hill by themselves, two are beautiful and one has been empty for some time and is in need of some love. And love it shall receive when Andee buys it to get away from the city and a relationship gone bad and parents who fill she has not fulfilled her professional ability.

The three owners are women, each very different, each with their own uniqueness and each has heart breaking events in their past they must overcome.

Boston has lived on the Island her entire life and married her childhood sweetheart, her soul mate. She has a beauty that shines and appreciated wisdom for those who surround her, she also has a very special gift of being able to make a canvas come to life and is able to put colors together that bring that life to any given surface. She is a very artsy person and her life and home exemplify this gift. I should add she has a hunky hubby and equally hunky brother-in-law and an adorable niece.

Deanna is, well perfect. She is the kind of person that always has the perfect outfit on, every hair in place does the right things goes to the right places, has the perfect house, the handsome hubby and five yep, five children. Deanna has rules strict rules, she expects everyone and I do mean everyone to be perfect.

It's wonderful to see how these owners bring perfection, artistic appreciation and professional expertise together. It also shows how each personality can contribute to a friendship if only given a chance.

I have enjoyed Susan Mallery books, I love the Blackberry Island Novels. Susan Mallery definitely has a gift to write and must say each time I read one of her books I like her more!

A Merry Little Christmas - Anita Higman

A Merry Little Christmas - Anita Higman

From the first page I was captivated by the characters, Franny, hard working, faith filled beautiful farm girl, Charlie a charming very rich educated and handsome city boy who shows up to buy her farm. The characters walk off the page and into your heart. This is a wonderful and charming Christmas read. One you will read quickly and wish for more! This is one book you are sure to enjoy and one your sure to share.

McKenzie, by: Penny Zeller

McKenzie
by:  Penny Zeller

I picked up this book because of the name and because it was Christian Fiction.  I love Historical Christian Fiction and am partial to the name McKenzie (loved the cover).  I also  was extremely  intrigued by the inside flap!  When I read that Penny Zeller writes with wit, brilliance, descriptive  clarity, and gentle, inspirational prose.  She provides a plentiful supply of intrigue, romance and drama, truly enough to keep anyone reading .  I had to find out for myself if any author could live up to this kind of praise.
I have over 2200 books on my kindle and a full home library but I read McKenzie above all the others just to find out if the description above is true, I am so delighted I did, I love Penny Zeller's book McKenzie,  and I'm lucky enough to have Hailee on the way.  I must also say that Penny Zeller writes with heart, she paints  a clear vision for the reader to feel and see what she describes, her characters come to life with feeling.  I would love to read every book Penny Zeller has written as I'm certain I will be listing her at the top of my list of favorite Christian Fiction authors.
I encourage you to read this book no matter your favorite genre as it is truly top shelf!

Hailee, By: Penney Zeller

Hailee
By:  Penney Zeller

I love nothing more than reading a book that I feel I can step off into its pages and feel as if I'm included, that I stepped into the same era, and lived in the same town, knew the same people, shared the same friends and prayed for the same neighbors.  And I felt as if I was right there with Hailee, I could feel her fear, excitement, her happiness, her sadness and her faith.  Penny Zeller presents her characters so vividly that you feel you have a personal relationship with them and you get completely caught up in their lives.  I knew when I read McKenzie that I would love Penny Zellers books, Hailee just confirmed it.  I could easily see that she put her heart and faith into her work and that she truly wanted her work to be blessed and for that work to be a blessing to others.  Her books have a message for each of us, it's as if she wrote to us individually, without question Penny has a gift, a gift she has been generous enough to share with us.
I found Hailee to be deeply moving book, we all have been in situations where we had a choice to forgive and we managed that forgiveness  but when we as individuals ask for forgiveness and we receive it and we need to let go and forgive ourselves it's something few of us can do easily if at all. Hailee demonstrates that it's through true faith we are forgiven and it's is also through grace and true faith we find forgiveness in our own hearts.
You will love Reverend Nate (Maxwell Nathaniel Adams, Jr) , his kindness and experience touch your heart, he knows what it's like to make mistakes and he knows what it's like to be forgiven.  More importantly he knows how difficult it is for us as individuals to forgive ourselves,  for he personally traveled the same road and knows the road well.
I have feel so blessed to receive and read the books in Montana Skies and I know you will feel blessed also.

Barefoot Seasons, a Blackberry Island novel by Susan Mallery

Susan Mallery is an accomplished writer that not only shows her creativity but shows her wit in her books with a good dose of humor. She is able to give descriptions that are decisive and realistic, her characters take on a life of their own which enables you to actually feel their suffering, sadness, fear and at times their annoyances, but Susan Mallery is able to complete it with love, desire and happiness.

For reasons unknown to me, I could actually envision a Robert Redford type in Sam, always the gentleman, and always a man of integrity and so willing to assist when needed.  What I am saying is, the characters came to life easily in my mind, Sam was well suited with Carly and Gabby, yet it was easy to see how he and Michelle could fit together.

Jared, well now……. talk about a prince charming (Sam Elliott type in my mind).  I liked him from the get go. When Jared gave Michelle Chance, it was a perfect solution; it gave Michelle a reason to think of something other than herself and the many problems she faces.   Chance seemed to give her focus.
I fell in love with Blackberry Island and the Inn with its quirky employees.  I see this as a place anyone would enjoy.

Susan Mallery is able to weave an incredible amount of history of two childhood friends and how their circumstances affected each of their lives, which keeps you turning pages.
This book covers many issues from friendship to parents with the complications of relationships and the feelings of betrayal, but balanced with an incredible amount of love.
This is my first Susan Mallery book but not my last; from beginning to end I enjoyed this book, and give it a strong 5 stars!

Thanks Goodreads!
